Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitionerand the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the first respondent.

At this stage of the hearing of the writ petitions, thelearned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submittedthat out of the amount of Rs.6,46,410/-, due to be paid to the firstrespondent, by the petitioner, as arrears of income tax, a sum ofRs.1 lakh had already been paid, on 19.03.2011. He had furthersubmitted that the balance amount of Rs.5,46,410/-, would be paid bythe petitioner in monthly installments.
3. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the firstrespondent in the writ petitions, had submitted that the petitionermay be directed to pay a sum of Rs.1 Lakh, out of the arrears ofincome tax payable by the petitioner, amounting to Rs.5,46,410/-,within a period of 15 days from today. The balance amount ofRs.4,46,410/-, should be paid by the petitioner, in four equalmonthly installments, payable on or before the 15[th] of everysucceeding month.
4. In view of the submissions made by the learned counselsappearing on behalf of the parties concerned, the petitioner isdirected to pay a sum of Rs.1 Lakh to the first respondent, within aperiod of 15 days from today. On such payment being made, theattachment of the bank accounts of the petitioner in the respondentbanks, shall stand raised. The petitioner shall pay the balanceamount of Rs.4,46,410/-, in four equal monthly installments, on orbefore the 15[th] of every succeeding month. If the petitioner fails topay the installments, as directed by this Court, it would be open tothe first respondent to initiate appropriate action against thepetitioner, in the manner known to law.
