JUSTICE TEJAS KARIAO R D E R07.07.2025 % 1.The Petitioners have filed the present Petition, inter alia, praying asunder: “(a) release the Gold (Coins) and jewellery seized in terms ofAnnexures B-1, B-2, J-1, J-2, J-3 & J-4 [Annexure A to thepresent writ petition]; or (b) dispose the applications dated 25.11.2024, read withreminder dated 23.01.2025 filed by the Petitioners before theRespondents.” 2.The present petition was listed on 07.03.2025 and notice was issued tothe Revenue.Thereafter, the present petition had been listed on variousoccasions and had adjourned as the learned counsel for the Revenue hadsought time to take instructions.On the last date of hearing, i.e., on21.03.2025, this Court had passed the following order: “1. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Revenueseeks further time to take instructions. 2. At his request, list on 06.05.2025. 3. Meanwhile, if necessary, the Revenue may file a counter-affidavit within a period of three weeks from date. Rejoinderthereto, if any, be filed before the next date of hearing. 4. It is clarified that no further time would be granted to theparties to complete the pleadings.” 3.The learned counsel appearing for the Revenue now submits that thePetitioners’ Application for release of the jewellery in question would bedecided within a period of 1 (one) week from date. The Respondents arebound down to the said statement. The aforesaid statement also addressesthe Petitioners’ second prayer in the present Petition. 4.In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed inthis Petition. The same is disposed of. 5.It is clarified that all rights and contentions of the Petitioners arereserved, and in the event the order passed by the Respondents is adverse tothe Petitioners, the Petitioners would not be precluded from availing theirremedies to assail the same including on the grounds as set out in the presentPetition.
