W.P.(C) NO.11204 OF 2016 06.01.2017 Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.S.K.Acharya, learned Sr. Standing Counsel for Income Tax. 2. This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioners challenging the action of the opposite parties under Section 132 of the Income Tax Act. 3. Mr. Acharya, learned Sr. Standing Counsel for Income Tax submitted that the assessment proceeding has not yet concluded and the application for refund was made to Deputy Director of Income Tax (Investigation). 4. Considering the above, without going into the merits of the case, this Court disposes of this Writ Petition with a direction to the opposite parties to conclude the assessment proceeding in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably by end of April, 2017. However, it is open to the petitioners to produce relevant documents before the authorities in support of their case, if so advised.
