This is a client-facing sourcing, verification & listing role — not a research, analyst, or advisory position. Ideal for Commerce graduates; a CA / CFA qualification is not required for this role.
We are looking for a Mergers and Acquisitions Associate to manage the complete process of helping sellers list their companies and helping buyers identify and acquire suitable companies. The role covers seller verification, company data collection, website listing, buyer coordination, company matching, documentation and coordination of the company transfer process.
1. Seller Verification & Company Listing
- Contact sellers whose companies/businesses are listed for sale.
- Speak with the seller and understand their requirement to sell the company.
- Verify the seller's identity through Aadhaar / identity verification and collect the necessary authorization / consent.
- Verify basic company details and ownership information.
- Download / retrieve relevant company information and public records.
- Prepare and upload company information on the platform / website.
- Ensure listings contain accurate and complete information.
- Coordinate with the internal team whenever additional documents or information are required.
2. Buyer Handling
- Speak with buyers looking to acquire a company / business.
- Understand their requirements, such as:
- Company type
- Industry
- Location
- Age of company
- Turnover
- Paid-up capital
- GST status
- Compliance status
- Other specific requirements
- Search the available company database and identify suitable companies.
- Share relevant opportunities with buyers.
- Coordinate calls / meetings between buyers and sellers.
- Maintain regular follow-ups with interested buyers.
3. Company Matching
- Match buyer requirements with suitable companies available for sale.
- Shortlist companies based on the buyer's requirements.
- Explain basic company information to the buyer.
- Coordinate additional information / document requests between buyer and seller.
- Maintain proper records of buyer interest and shortlisted companies.
4. Company Transfer Process
- Coordinate the complete company transfer process after the buyer and seller agree to proceed.
- Collect required documents from both parties.
- Coordinate with the ROC, Tax, GST, Audit, Accounting and Legal teams wherever required.
- Prepare and track agreements, declarations, engagement letters and other transaction documents.
- Send documents to the relevant parties for signing.
- Track pending signatures and documents.
- Maintain the transaction checklist and ensure deadlines are met.
- Keep both buyer and seller updated throughout the transfer process.
- Coordinate until the transaction / company transfer is completed.
