Income Tax Litigation & GST Associate

Role & responsibilities

Handle income-tax litigation and GST compliance end to end — scrutiny, appeals before CIT(A) & ITAT, and monthly GST filing — with a CA-led team.

Scrutiny & Assessments

• Handle income-tax scrutiny and assessment notices — Section 143(2), 142(1), 148 / reassessment and penalty (270A / 271).
• Prepare submissions, compile documents, evidence and computations.
• Represent / assist before the Assessing Officer, both faceless and physical.

Appeal Drafting — CIT(A) & ITAT

• Draft appeals before CIT(A) (Form 35) and ITAT (Form 36) — grounds of appeal and statement of facts.
• Prepare written submissions, paper books and case-law compilations.
• Research case law and precedents to build strong arguments.

GST Compliance & Filing

• Prepare and file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-9 / 9C accurately and on time.
• Reconcile GSTR-2B vs purchase register and GSTR-1 vs 3B; resolve mismatches.
• Handle GST registration, amendments, LUT and assist with GST notices (ASMT-10, DRC).

Representation & Follow-up

• Manage the income-tax and GST portals, track deadlines and coordinate hearings.
• Liaise with clients for documents, information and updates; support ITR filing where required.

What we’re looking for

• Semi-qualified CA / CA Inter / LLB / M.Com / commerce graduate with tax exposure.
• Good understanding of the Income-tax Act, assessment & appeal procedures, and GST returns.
• Strong drafting skills — submissions, grounds of appeal, statement of facts.
• Familiarity with the income-tax e-filing / faceless portals and the GST portal.
• Comfortable with Tally / accounting software and Excel.
• Good case-law research, attention to detail, follow-up and coordination.
• Good communication in Hindi & English.
