Form 26AS is your consolidated annual tax statement — every rupee of tax credited against your PAN. Always reconcile it (and the AIS) with your own records before you file.
The newer AIS (Annual Information Statement) is wider — it also lists interest, dividends, securities and property transactions reported to the department. Use both: 26AS for tax credits, AIS for income reported about you.
Every taxpayer, before filing the ITR. View/download it from the e-filing portal → e-File → Income Tax Returns → View 26AS (TRACES).
Your ITR must match 26AS/AIS. A mismatch is the single most common trigger for a notice — reconcile first.
We reconcile 26AS, AIS and your books and file a clean return.
